Workshop bookings are placed and paid for via the website. Paypal and most major cards are taken.
Once the payment has been accepted your booking will be confirmed and you will also receive a reminder nearer the workshop date.
If you experience any difficulty at all with booking or payment, please do contact me (telephone number at the bottom of each page or via the contact page) and I would be very happy to help if I can.
Payment for the minimum number of persons is made on booking. You will be invoiced separately for any further persons (i.e up to 4 more people).
If for any reason you are unable to attend a workshop, please do let me know as soon as possible.
ADVERTISED WORKSHOP BOOKINGS:
If I am able to find a replacement for your space I will send you a full refund.
If I am unable to find a replacement for your space, I will send you a kit for the booked workshop (and can offer advice).
If I need to cancel the booking for any reason, I will let you know as soon as possible and you will receive a full refund. This is rare but may happen if I do not receive the minimum number of attendees needed for a class to run.
If for any reason any person/s is/are unable to attend the workshop, please let me know as soon as possible and I can refund you for any additional persons for whom you have paid ( i.e in addition to the minimum payment).
If you need to cancel the private booking completely, I can offer alternative dates. If alternative dates are not suitable, four kits can be sent to you but I regret that I am unable to provide a full refund.
If I need to cancel the booking for any reason (this would be extremely rare!) I will let you know as soon as possible and you will receive a full refund.
Refunds will be sent back to the account from which they were paid unless you provide me with a preferred alternative payment method on cancellation.
If you have any questions at all, please do not hesitate to contact me.
This policy relates to personal information collected, used, and shared when you book a workshop with Sew Need a Drink, purchase vouchers or kits and/or request to be added to the mailing list.
Although not a legal requirement for Sew Need a Drink, I have voluntarily registered with the ICO (Information Commissioner’s Office - https://ico.org.uk/)
The Personal Information Sew Need a Drink Collects
When you make a booking or place an order, Sew Need a Drink collects certain information from you, including your name, email address, postal address and any special requirements such as dietary.
This personal information may be provided verbally, by email or via Facebook or Instagram (see: https://www.facebook.com/privacy/explanation).
This information is retained so that Sew Need a Drink can keep you informed about your booking and ensure that your needs are met.
Emails sent to you will be ‘operational’, e.g. confirmation of the booking, payment information, location and other vital information. Sew Need a Drink may also send a short follow up email after you have attended the workshop or received a product in order to provide further materials, information about the workshop just attended and to request feedback (optional).
Emails are retained on a cloud based email system (outlook) which is password protected.
When bookings are placed via the website, they are managed by Acuity Scheduling. Acuity Scheduling passes the requested information to Sew Need a Drink but does not retain it. Please see their policy below:
I have also signed their recommended International Data Transfer Agreement. Please ask if you wish to view this document.
The main points from Acuity Scheduling policy are as follows:
2.2 Information Collected by Clients. A User may store or upload data into the Service. Acuity Scheduling has no direct relationship with the non Client Users whose Personal Data it may host as part of Client Data. Payment is made via the Sew Need a Drink website on booking.
Payment can be made via Stripe or via Paypal.
Sew Need a Drink does not receive any personal banking information via these sites who manage the payment. Stripe and Paypal are classed as 'secure' payment sites. You can see their Privacy Policies here:
Financial records have to be stored for 6 years for taxation and legal reasons.
In addition to ‘operational’ emails, you may have asked to be added to the Sew Need a Drink Mailing List. You will only be added to this mailing list if you have ‘opted into’ the list or do so in the future.
You may ask (or may have asked) to be added to this list directly (e.g at a fair or at a workshop), via email, via the Sew Need a Drink Facebook or Instagram page or via the ‘sign up’ link in Facebook or on the Sew Need a Drink website. Sew Need a Drink asks for a name and email address only.
Sew Need a Drink will communicate with you via email unless you request alternative methods of communication.
Sew Need a Drink may ask you if you are happy to have your photograph taken and shared for marketing reasons. We will only use the photograph if you have granted permission. Names will only be used if permission for this is also granted at the time.
You can ask for photographs to be removed from the Facebook page, website or any other marketing materials at any time by contacting Sew Need a Drink using the contact details found at the bottom of this policy.
How your personal information is stored
In order to maintain lawful financial records, Sew Need a Drink maintains records of payments received via bank transfer, cheque and cash on a password protected cloud based financial programme. Only your name, item purchased, method of purchase and date of the purchase are retained on the system.
Personal information for ‘operational’ communication is stored on an encrypted and password protected laptop. Once the information has been transferred, any written forms containing personal identifying information are safely destroyed via shredding.
Personal information for ‘operational’ purposes is retained for up to 2 years following the last workshop you attended or until you ask Sew Need a Drink to delete it (see ‘Your Rights’ below).
If permission has been granted to take a photograph, photographs are stored on an encrypted and password protected laptop and, after being downloaded, are deleted the same day from the camera used.

Your information may be shared with other parties in order to fulfil your booking or order only e.g with a postal service.
If you have asked to be added to the Sew Need a Drink Mailing List, your information (name and email address) is also shared with Mail Chimp. This programme is used to send marketing emails only and is protected via a two step process (password and phone verification) before it can be accessed.

The studio can be accessed via a ramp as well as via a stairwell. The ramp is accessed up a steep hill from the car park. I would recommend that anyone with mobility needs either parks at the top of the hill or gets a lift to the top of the hill (please let me know beforehand if you require parking so that I can try to arrange for a space to be reserved for you in this case. However, I am unable to guarantee that this will be available due to sharing the parking with others at the venue).
There are no steps.
Toilets are available but no specific disabled toilets.
Refreshments are provided for all bookings. You can specify any dietary requirements at the time of booking.
If you have any specific needs to help you access or complete the workshops please let me know before or on booking so that I can help as much as possible.
If you have any medical conditions, please also let me know in case of emergencies only.
