Historic Via Gellia Mill (Bonsall)

Historic Via Gellia Mill (Bonsall)

Set in beautiful Derbyshire along the historic Derwent Valley the Sew Need a Drink studio is a lovely place to visit.

Sew and listen to the beautiful sounds of trickling water and whistling birds from the weir outside while you sew (Kingfisher have even been seen!)

Accessibility

There is parking in the mill.  It is best to park in the bottom car park and walk up the hill to the far left (there are also stairs within the mill).

There is often a parking space at the top of the hill next to the entrance.

A ramp is used to access the building with no further stairs, although please note that the hill to the ramp is quite steep.

Toilets are on the same floor - please contact me if you have any questions or need any further support at all and I would be happy to help.

Make a Day of it by going on a walk in the area

There is a beautiful walk which runs past the studio entrance - click here to view it

Or just have a picnic nearby!

Public Transport

A bus runs hourly from Matlock to Bonsall and stops opposite the mill (Pig of Lead bus stop).  Click here for the timetable.

Trains stop at nearby Cromford; I often catch the train and walk the rest of the way through the woods (see above).  Click here for the train timetable.
